Michael and Brenda McCollum of Saint Paul, MN, are missionary appointees with SEND International. They will serve in a church planting ministry in Zagreb, Croatia. The purpose of this church planting ministry is to help the existing national church reach the Croatian people for Christ. This is critical because less than .2% of Croatians know Jesus Christ as their personal savior and there are less than 150 protestant churches in this nation of 4.5 million people.

Michael accepted Christ as his savior as a young child. He has been in the computer field since 1994 but has been preparing for career missionary service in Croatia since January 2004. Michael is pursuing his Master’s degree through distance education which will enhance his ability to do ministry and enable him to begin lay leadership training of Croatian nationals. Michael enjoys teaching various ages of people, from young children to adults. He began feeling the call to full-time ministry in the fall of 2003. This desire was solidified when he listened to an elderly pastor share his testimony of a life well lived for the glory of God.

Brenda has also been a Christian since childhood and has always had a passion for missions. She is a full-time mom and wife who teaches their four children at home. Both Michael and Brenda are actively involved in the leadership of their Adult Bible Fellowship. Brenda is working toward a Bible degree from Moody.

Michael and Brenda were married in 1990. God has blessed them with four children whom they are raising to love and fear the Lord. All of their children have trusted Christ and are learning to set time aside each day for Bible study.

The McCollum family is excited to go to Croatia and serve God in ministry to the Croatian people.
