Work, work, work. It seems that we are always doing something to
complete this task of finding the people and churches who will partner
with us to reach the Croatian people for Christ. We write these
newsletters, we make phone calls to individuals, and we contact
churches we've never heard of. What else should we be doing to get this
task completed? It's been over two years that we've been working to
raise support. Work, work, work.
Recently we have been reminded that it is not our efforts that bring in the support. Oh, yes, we knew this in our
heads at
the beginning of this process but it is finally getting into our
hearts. Dave Wood, U.S. Director of SEND, looked at our daily schedule
for support discovery. He told us we needed to be spending much more
time in prayer about our support need and for our current supporters.
At the same time we started seeing that we are receiving a significant
amount of support from places we did not look. We have had a number of
people begin supporting us before we have even met them! Obviously they
are not partnering with us because of the great job we have done with
communicating the ministry and the need. No, they are clearly
partnering with us because God has called them to do so and in
obedience, they are following his instruction.
Who
is in control of the support raising process? It is God, not us. We'll
keep doing the busy work that is involved in this process but pray for
us that we would put this ever more into the all powerful hands of our
Creator. As you do that, please know that we will be praying for you,
too.
